Welcome to another awesome week in Bookends!

Monday we continue our game centers, beginning with hopscotch, four square and spot the difference to get our bodies and minds warmed up for play.  Later we will explore our board games, puzzles, and SMARTboard interactives.

Tuesday we explore the world of kitchen science by delving into the question, how can you determine the specific gravity of a potato? We will dig up some potatoes in the garden, talk about their properties, experiment with some and leave a few to grow eyes. Then we will make delicious potato pancakes.

Wednesday we continue our artist studies, as well as our development of our own musical inclinations through a structured jam session. We will also work out our bodies through expressive dance.

Thursday we expand our Lego studies into the realm of robots, seeking to build the most sturdy, technologically advanced robot yet created. We will discuss what makes could power such robots and what functions they could have.

Friday we take our Readers’ Theater to the next level by constructing sock puppets to portray various characters in our story.

It looks to be a fabulous week of adventures! We are looking forward to it!
