Other Sports

SF Parks and Rec offers many opportunities for team and individual participation. The goal of youth sports in San Francisco is to encourage skill development and foster a positive attitude without overly emphasizing winning every game as a primary goal. Children will learn basic to advanced fundamentals in sports such as baseball, basketball, flag football, soccer, volleyball, and tennis. Check out the wide range of league, instructional course, and camp offerings throughout the city of San Francisco!

Girls Sports

Of note is the Girls Sports Program. Some of the current middle school girls played volleyball in the program when they were in lower school. Great preparation for the middle school team!

The mission of the girl’s sports division is to develop and deliver equitable and quality sport opportunities for ALL girls. This will be achieved through leadership development, team building, and good old fashioned fun! Girls, ages 5-14, will find a variety of sports offered such as Basketball, Volleyball, Soccer, Softball, T-Ball, and much more! Join in now on San Francisco’s wide range of girls specific sports programs.

Flag Football
In Fall of 2015, AVS was contacted by SF Parks and Rec to see if we were interested in fielding a Flag Football team. Coaches and equipment would be provided by the league. There was insufficient interest at that time. Contact Joachim Perlas, Program Director, Joachim.perlas@sfgov.org or 415-815-9340.
