We, the founding families of Alta Vista School, are thrilled to share with you the creation of a new progressive, project-based, independent elementary school in San Francisco.  We are dedicated to building Alta Vista School to fulfill our vision of a school emphasizing science, math and technology with small class size.  We are committed to creating an exciting, rigorous, fun, and cutting-edge learning environment in San Francisco based on our beliefs that:

·         Our amazing, complicated, vast - and yet small - world is designed to be explored

·         Education should be about learning how to think, not what to think

·         Small class size = more opportunities for deeper learning and personal growth

·         A strong parent-school partnership is critical to each child’s development

·         All families have something valuable to contribute to a school community

·         Learning is and should be fun!

Our tireless group has been busy working with our talented faculty, and we are excited to share what we are building at Alta Vista School.
