2012-2013 School Year Admissions

The admissions process for the 2012-2013 school year begins in September 2011, with tours and open houses throughout the Fall/early Winter.  For Fall 2012, we will be admitting students entering Jr. Kindergarten, Kindergarten, 1st Grade, 2nd Grade, and 3rd Grade.

Alta Vista School Admissions Process:
  1. Come visit us.  There is no better way for you to see what Alta Vista School offers and to evaluate whether it is a good fit for your child and family than by meeting with our faculty team and families.  We have various tours and open houses throughout the Fall/early Winter - see the Admissions Calendar.  Individual tours also may be arranged by contacting Head of School Ed Walters via email: ed@altavistaschoolsf.org or by phone: 415/437-4700.
  2. Apply.   Application packets for the coming school year are available at school when you come to visit, or you can download/save the application.  Please complete the application and submit it to the school with the $100 application fee by January 18, 2012.  If you need assistance with the application fee, please let us know.  Students transferring from another school also will need to have their current school complete a student evaluation form and have it sent directly from the current school to Alta Vista School.   Please download/save the form.
  3. Have your child come join us at school.  During January, February and March, we invite prospective students to come to school for a 1 to 1 1/2-hour visit so they may join in classroom activities and participate in an evaluation of their developmental and school readiness.
  4. Admissions decisions.  Our admissions committee reviews all completed applications.  Admissions decisions will be sent out in March 2012, following the guidelines established by the Bay Area Directors of Admissions Consortium.

Why I Love Alta Vista ...

... because at Alta Vista my son is more confident, more focused, and always comes home with happy tales to tell of his day at school.
