      Thank you for your interest in Alta Vista School.  We are excited about building a vibrant new elementary school community within San Francisco.  Our plan is to grow a full lower school and then add a middle school.  

      We understand that school admissions can be a daunting and time-consuming process.  At Alta Vista School, we want your experience in learning about our school community to be as helpful, informative, accessible, and convenient as possible for you and your child.  We invite you to meet with us at a variety of welcoming events:
      • Family Open Houses in which you can meet our families and your children can play with current Alta Vista students and engage in hands-on activities with our faculty
      • Parents Open House in which you can share a light meal and refreshments and mingle with members of our community free of distraction from children
      • School Tour in which you can spend one-on-one time with our Head of School Ed Walters and see our school in action
      Participate in as many or as few activities as you find useful.

      The best way to evaluate whether Alta Vista School is a good fit for your child and family is to get to our know our community.  Please contact us - We are truly happy to talk and meet with interested families to answer questions and share further information about our shared vision.  

      Why I Love Alta Vista ...

      ...because I learn so much from my 5-year old son when he tells me with sparkling eyes what he learned at Alta Vista today:  the equinox is the first day of fall when the number of daylight hours equals the number of nighttime hours... perro is dog in Spanish ... there are glowing mushrooms in Brazil.  

      Being an engineer for so long, I had almost forgotten how fun it is to learn new and different things every day!
